On the club's website, IFK Gothenburg writes that they are now initiating a rehabilitation plan for the striker.
"The plan is based on IFK Gothenburg's values, our responsibility and our obligations as employers," the statement reads.
“In the rehabilitation plan that is now being started, a great effort will be required from Kolbeinn himself.
We are what we are called, a peer association and IFK Gothenburg supports and follows up during the process. ”

A few weeks ago, the news that the Icelandic Football Association's board had resigned after trying to cover up that a woman had accused Kolbeinn Sigthorsson of sexual harassment.
It was in 2017 that Sigthorsson is said to have harassed two women at a nightclub in Reykjavik.
