It was on Wednesday last week that Kalla suddenly became ill and was forced to lock himself in the hotel room.

You were isolated with stomach problems, it sounds dramatic.

What just happened?

- Most likely I got something bad in me.

It became insulation in the room.

I really was not fit to train.

I have had a lot of free time here during my stay in France, but now I am up and running again, the 34-year-old now tells SVT Sport.

- You do not feel well, it was mostly just a horizontal position.

I had to force food and water into me, but it was heavenly nice to get my energy back and that the food started to taste.

The national team management has previously stated that the camp in France was an extra important part of the preparations for the Olympics, as it is decided at a similar level.

But Kalla believes that the setback with stomach problems and isolation should not affect her significantly.

- Initially, you do not feel very strong.

But before that I have had great training days and it has been important to be able to register how the body adapts to the height and what reactions there have been.

And we still have good training days left, so I look forward to them.

And all the focus during the training days this pre-season is of course about being in as good shape as possible when the Olympics are decided - even though Kalla has not yet been selected.

- It's a new situation for me.

It would have been more secure to be pre-selected.

But I have in my ground plan that I will go fast in December.

And I think it's important to feel that the form is there early in the season.

The championship is decided earlier than a World Cup, for example.

Then I feel safe with the training I have had to do this summer and autumn, the preparations that have been made.
