[The 14th National Games] Chairman of the Macau Sports Journalists Association: Participating in hosting the National Games provides opportunities for the development of Macau
[Explanation] Recently, the State Council approved Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to jointly host the 15th National Games in 2025. This will be the first time that Hong Kong and Macao will jointly host a national comprehensive sports event since the return of Hong Kong and Macao.
A few days ago, Fang Nianxiang, chairman of the Macau Sports Journalists Association, who was participating in the 14th National Games in Shaanxi, told reporters that Macau’s participation in hosting the National Games will provide opportunities for local development in all aspects.

Both the sports, cultural, and citizens are very excited and feel that this time is a rare opportunity.
For example, in Macao, whether it is sports development, cultural development, integration into the Greater Bay Area, and industrial diversification, these aspects can be driven.
[Explanation] In the second year of the return, Macau participated in the National Games for the first time. In addition, Macau also hosted the hockey and martial arts preliminaries for the National Games.
In 2005, Macau successfully hosted the 4th East Asian Games, which was the first time that Macau hosted an international comprehensive sports meeting.
Fang Nianxiang introduced that the fast-developing sports industry also provided basic conditions for Macau to host the National Games.

After the reunification, we developed "walking on two legs", one is mass sports and the other is competitive sports. We attach great importance to both.
For mass sports, we have opened a lot of sports venues; in terms of competitive sports, we have hosted 3 comprehensive sports games.
[Explanation] At the 14th National Games, a total of 102 athletes from the Macau delegation participated in 17 final events.
Fang Nianxiang praised the epidemic prevention and volunteer work of this National Games. He believes that the "Shaanxi experience" will provide a reference for the preparations for the next National Games.

I think our Shaanxi National Games was very well done this time, and the epidemic prevention work was also done in place, as if we were taking temperature (etc.) other aspects when we came.

[Explanation] Macau player Guo Jianheng won a bronze medal in the men's karate individual competition held in the previous few days, which is also the first medal since the Macau delegation participated in the National Games.
