Sweden currently has three points in the World Cup qualifiers after winning the premiere match against Slovakia.

Hedvig Lindahl, who after the Olympics decided to continue his national team career, got to see the match from the substitutes' bench when young Häcken player Jennifer Falk kept a clean sheet for Sweden.

- It is a competitive situation and that is how it should be.

I see that Jennifer and Zecira (Musovic) who are here now but also Emma (Holmgren) who went to Lyon, are taking steps.

I get older and they have the advantage that they are ten years younger and physically more capable, but on the other hand I have experience that they do not have, says Lindahl who believes that in the end it is up to the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson.

- If Peter ever says "now I have chosen a first goalkeeper" and it is not me then I have to think about whether it is worth going here, but as long as it is a competition there is a chance for me too, says 38- the yearling.

Hope to be ready to play against Georgia

A big reason why Peter Gerhardsson chose Hedvig Lindahl in the match against Slovakia is that she came to the collection with an overworked knee from the derby victory with her club team Atletico Madrid.

But against Georgia in the next match she will be able to play.

- It feels better today with a few days without strain on the knee.

The medical team has said that if it continues like this, I will be ready to play against Georgia.

But I told Peter that I could play against Slovakia last time as well, but then the knee would not have been as good as it is now, says the Atletico goalkeeper.

"So damn good to be a part of"

A big reason why Hedvig Lindahl remains in the Swedish national team is in addition to her great experience also that she is still chasing a championship gold.

For the Swedish national team, a European Championship 2022, possibly the World Cup 2023 and then the Olympic Games 2024, is now waiting, but Lindahl is not entirely sure that she is on that whole journey.

- I can not answer that.

I'm in this camp.

I will play football all this year, so the probability that I will participate in the European Championships is greater than that I will participate in the World Cup and the Olympics, but I have said that for hundreds of years it feels like.

Is it still the gold that counts?

- Of course, we can not lower our goal now.

We have had some championships where we have been up there and sniffed.

It was so damn good to be part of this in the Olympic final so there is nothing but winning a gold, says Lindahl and laughs.
