Mohamed Salah led his Liverpool team to the top of the English Premier League, after beating Crystal Palace by three on Saturday in the fifth round of the competition.

This round also witnessed Manchester City's stumble with a 0-0 draw with Southampton, Arsenal's victory over Burnley with a clean goal, Watford over Norwich City 3-1, and Brentford over Wolverhampton 2-0.

Liverpool advanced with a goal scored by Sadio Mane (43) from a follow-up to Salah's header, who added the second goal (78), and Naby Keita concluded Liverpool's goals (89).

Liverpool raised its score to 13 points at the top of the standings, temporarily, until the end of the rest of the matches of this round, while Crystal Palace's balance stopped at 5 points in 13th place.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City fell to a goalless draw against its guest, Southampton.

And Manchester City raised its score to 10 points in second place, temporarily, and Southampton's balance became 4 points in 15th place.

At Turf Moor, Arsenal beat Burnley 1-0.

Arsenal owes this victory to Martin Odegaard, who scored the game's only goal (30).

Arsenal raised its score to 6 points in 12th place, and Burnley's balance stopped at one point in 19th place, penultimate.
