The now 63-year-old Salazar was suspended during the World Cup in Doha 2019 for four years for doping offenses, where he is said to have provided active people with testosterone and to have manipulated doping tests.

Salazar is best known as the coach of the British long-distance runner and four-time Olympic winner Mo Farah, who, however, has not been accused of doping.

Salazar has consistently denied any wrongdoing, and has also been suspended in a separate case for life from the coaching role in the United States after he was accused of abusing women in the so-called Oregon project.

There, Salazar has admitted that he behaved insensitively, but denies that it is about abuse or gender discrimination.
