It was after 19 minutes in Sunday's meeting with Halmstad that Sebastian Eriksson, 32, sat on the pitch and grinned badly.

He later received help from the grass and the first information afterwards feared that Eriksson had torn one of his heel tendons.

Information that on Tuesday was confirmed by the club's team doctor, Jon Karlsson.

- We are simply planning for an operation.

There is no doubt about the diagnosis, he tells GT.

When asked if the season is over for Eriksson, he answers briefly:

- The season is absolutely over.

"I sincerely hope I can do it again"

Jon Karlsson also says that a magnetic X-ray has been ordered.

That it is now a matter of finding out what the tendon is like and what it looks like.

Sebastian Eriksson himself published an emotional post on his social media on Tuesday.

There he writes, among other things:

“Oh what a favor it has been to be able to represent you as many times as I have received.

To feel so alive.

To kick down a light blue after 15 seconds.

Chase some bastard so the lactic acid squirts in your legs.

To get tampas for your colors in times of adversity.

To be allowed to stand there in the tunnel.

Hear your song.

Hear your angels sing.

I sincerely hope I can do it again. "
