And the Russian swimming champion Andrei Nikolaev had asked Putin to sign one of the pages of his passport instead of signing the medals, but the president refused the request, justifying this by asking: "Can you sign my passport?", stressing that the passport is a document and should not be corrupted.

The Russian people of determination won 118 medals, including 36 gold, at the Tokyo Paralympics. The Russian team ranked fourth in the overall ranking of countries winning the colored medals.
