It is in a new series that the BBC is behind, that we get to follow the start of the Premier League 1992/93.

In one of the episodes, we get to follow the thrilling final stages of the Premier League's first season.

Manchester United eventually became the historic first winners of the Premier League title - this even before the last home game of the season - against big rival, Blackburn.

"Pretty unprofessional"

This was celebrated with a party that later became thoroughly mythical.

- We had a kind of ... we had a ... uh, I'm going to say as it was.

We had a party at (Steve) Bruce's house, says former Manchester United star goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

A party that, according to the players themselves in the documentary, began at seven in the evening - and did not end until four in the morning.

- We tried to keep it at a good level, but it was difficult.

In a way, it was quite unprofessional, Schmeichel continues.

The documentary "Premier League - when football changed" is coming out in four parts on SVT Play and already now you can watch the first part by clicking here.
