SHL newcomer Timrå got a real dream start in the return in the highest series away against Oskarshamn.

100 seconds in, Per Svensson sent the puck in towards goals on win and loss.

It turned out to be a stroke of genius.

Via an Oskarshamn skate, the puck found its way into the net and the Medelpad team took the lead.

The goal was Svensson's first in the SHL.

Shortly after the goal, Timrå got a powerplay and the NHL acquaintance as well as the new acquisition Ty Rattie did not want to wait.

He immediately made sure to extend the visitors 'lead to 2-0 on Timrås' only second shot on goal.

Then everything collapsed.

By the end of the first period, Oskarshamn had caught up and won the shooting statistics with 17-5 in shots on goal.

When the second period was over, the home team had gone from 5-3 after, among other things, two goals and an assist by former Mod player Patrik Karlkvist in the SHL debut.

- We get a little too offensive with our third forward, so we go on counterattacks.

We talked about it before, but did not get it in order, says coach Fredrik Andersson in Cmore.

The guests' Ty Rattie did not want to be worse when he reduced his second goal of the match in the third period, but it did not help much and Oskarshamn won the premiere with 5-4.

- We have to get the defensive game in order to win matches, says coach Fredrik Andersson.

- The guys never give up. The last period is our best period. We get to take with us the offensive and our powerplay which is good today.
