Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (Aubenhausen) won her third gold medal at the European Dressage Championships in Hagen.
After the victory of the German team in the team competition and her triumph in the Grand Prix Special, the 35-year-old dominated the freestyle with her 14-year-old Trakehner mare Dalera.
For the first time since 2015, Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) went empty-handed at a major championship. The seven-time Olympic champion and defending champion finished fourth with the mare Weihegold. Silver and bronze went to Cathrine Dufour (Denmark) with Bohemian and Charlotte Dujardin (Great Britain) with Gio. 14th among the 15 couples was Helen Langehanenberg (Billerbeck) with Annabelle.
