Revenge.

That is what both Frölunda and Brynäs are looking for this season.

Revenge on his own, weak performance last year.

Frölunda was seventh in the table for the second year in a row, and then outclassed by Rögle in the Swedish Championship quarterfinals.

Not approved for a club with Frölunda's resources, history and ambitions.

Anrika Brynäs dropped so low that they had to qualify to stay in the highest series.

The honor was saved with 4-1 in matches against HV 71 in the qualifiers.

Frölunda was best in the first period.

Linus Nässén steered a shot from Simon Edvinsson to 1-0.

Jacob Nilsson, new from Färjestad, was behind the extended goal line and poked in 2-0 via Brynäs goalkeeper Veini Vehviläinen.

Ölund completed the turn

But Brynäs managed to reduce before the break.

Nicklas Danielsson rushed forward and pushed the puck in, after Oscar Eklind conquered it in the corner.

The second period was completely different.

Frölunda incurred three expulsions during the first eight minutes.

During the third, which applied to many players on the ice, a free-kick Greg Scott equalized for Brynäs.

Now Brynäs had a grip on the match.

Linus Ölund made it 3--2 for Gävlelaget, before Adam Pettersson increased to 4-2 before a passive Frölunda.

- We got a bunch of powerplay, scored some goals, got long attacks and gained momentum in the match, says Linus Ölund to Cmore in the second break.

In Frölunda it was gloomy.

- We play quite softly.

We get expelled because we're a little lazy.

Then we lose almost every duel in the entire second period.

Then you end up a little behind, says Max Friberg in Frölunda to Cmore.

"Wake!"

In the third period not much happened.

- Wake up, shouted a disappointed Frölunda supporter to his team from the stands.

With 2.41 left, Frölunda bet on playing with six outfielders.

But it did not help, in a premiere match that Frölunda probably wants to quickly forget.
