Mexican Jeanette Zacarias Zapata died last Thursday after receiving several hard blows to the head during the match against the Canadian Marie-Pier Houle.

She lost consciousness in the ring and was then cared for at a hospital in Montreal, where she later died.

This has contributed to all professional boxing in Canada being temporarily stopped and thus also Berghult's title match, which would have taken place in Montreal.

At present, it is unclear whether the match will be postponed or canceled.

Berghult's staff has sent up to five emails without receiving any feedback from the organizer.

- It is the uncertainty that is difficult.

We are waiting for an answer (from the organizer) but otherwise we have to start working to hopefully be able to take the match to Sweden.

Can get a new opponent in the title match

Berghult was to play the match of his life on September 17 against veteran Marie-Eve Dicaire.

Because Canada is currently unable to host the gala, other countries may apply to re-box the full WBC World Cup belt.

- We can apply to have the belt boxed in Sweden and then it does not have to be against her. I think we said we should wait another day, but it's my coach Kamran Kabinejad and my dad who agree. I have not boxed in two years, so you want to enter the ring.
