The British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, revealed that the Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City star, was banned from driving his car for 56 days, due to speeding on a motorway in England, and he was fined 2,500 pounds, according to a court ruling.

The newspaper reported that Mahrez was driving his gray car, worth 100,000 pounds, at a speed of 189 miles per hour while traveling south near Junction 11 in Cannock, in May last year.

She explained that Mahrez pleaded guilty to speeding in November, and was punished by judges in the city of Staffordshire.

It was not the first time that Mahrez was in violation of the law, as he received a six-month ban in 2016 while at Leicester City for driving at 77 miles per hour in a zone where speeds of 50 miles per hour were allowed, and he was then fined 900 pounds.

Mahrez is considered one of the most prominent stars in the world, and the public calls him "the pride of the Arabs", as is the case with the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, and the fans in his country expect him to lead Algeria again to the World Cup finals.
