On September 7, three KHL meetings will take place: Lokomotiv will host Dynamo Minsk, Metallurg Magnitogorsk will play at home with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, and Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod - with Siberia Novosibirsk.

On September 7, 2011, during takeoff from the Tunoshna airport in the Yaroslavl region, a Yak-42 plane of the Yak Service airline with the Lokomotiv team on board crashed.

Earlier it was reported that CSKA Moscow agreed to increase the number of fans for the first home matches of the KHL.
