Anthony Elanga is the Swedish 19-year-old who was perhaps the biggest surprise during Manchester United's pre-season.

He got a lot of playing time and also scored two goals.

"The lad is electric" said United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about the Swedish talent's progress.

A United where superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently returned.

To the delight of, among others, Anthony Elanga.

- He is a player that I watched a lot when I was younger.

When I heard he signed, I thought ... wow.

I was thrilled.

And I can learn a lot from him.

It's sick, I really have no words, says Anthony Elanga to SVT Sport.

And Ronaldo can count on getting questions from his 17-year-younger teammate from Sweden.

- I will ask questions.

How I can develop and what I can do better.

Many young players do not like to ask questions, but I do.

I want to know how he is always in the right place to score his goals or create chances for his teammates, says Anthony Elanga.

So far, Elanga has been outside United's squad.

It was also speculated that he would be loaned out just before the transfer window closed - but remained.

- If I get the opportunity for playing time, I have to take it.

I think United want me to stay in the squad.

I'm only 19 years old.

There are great players in United, from whom I can learn a lot, he says.

"Want to show Janne"

At the time of writing, it is the game in the Swedish U21 national team that has Elanga's focus.

Sweden meets Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tuesday night's European Championship qualifier.

Anthony Elanga who scored two goals last against Montenegro.

- We had a tough match last time.

All away matches are tough.

We have scored nine goals so far, but there are more.

And we will do well against Bosnia as well, says Anthony Elanga.

The men's national team's national team captain Janne Andersson has also expressed that he sees great potential in Elanga for the future.

- I am only 19 years old, and have a lot of time left to develop.

When the time comes, I want to show Janne and all leaders what I can, says Anthony Elanga to SVT Sport.
