The return of athletes who participated in the Tokyo Paralympics, which ended on the 5th, peaked on the 6th, and at Narita Airport, the athletes are returning to Japan while being sent off by volunteers.

From Narita Airport, more than 2,000 athletes and tournament officials who participated in the Tokyo Paralympics are expected to leave the country on the 6th.

In the departure lobby, there was a monitor connected online with a city volunteer in Chiba prefecture who had no chance to work at Narita Airport because the tournament was unattended, and the players were seen off while waving through the screen.

There was also a small robot that volunteers could remotely control and talk to, and when they said "Thank you" to the players through the robot, the players also expressed their gratitude.

The athletes were on their way home after receiving medals handmade by volunteers using origami paper.

A French badminton player said, "It was great that the Japanese people were always smiling and wondering if we needed help. We want to do the same at the 2024 Paris Games. For Japan. I think it was held in a difficult situation, but I am very grateful. "
