Al-Badri had made it clear - in media statements today, Monday, upon his arrival in Cairo from Gabon - that he refused to submit his resignation at the request of the president of the Egyptian Football Association.

He added that he did not fail in his mission with the team, stressing his ability to carry out all the tasks that were assigned to him, and this was evidenced by the team's qualification for the African Nations Cup, and its group topped it in the World Cup qualifiers.

Hossam El-Badri took over the task in 2019, succeeding Mexican Javier Aguirre, as he managed to lead the team to qualify for the African Nations Cup, which begins in Cameroon early next year.

And the Egyptian media reported a number of names nominated to succeed El-Badri, including the coach of the Olympic team, Shawky Gharib, and Argentine Hector Cuper, who led the Pharaohs to the World Cup in Russia 2018.
