Hossam El Badry's first reaction after the dismissal... and the Zamalek coach closest to leading the Egyptian national team

The coach of the Egyptian national football team, Hossam El-Badri, refused to respond to the Football Association’s request to resign from his position, which prompted the latter to decide to officially dismiss him, today, Monday, early in the age of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, after the public anger towards the poor technical level. On Sunday, the national team appeared against Gabon (1-1).

In light of Al-Badri's intransigence and refusal to resign, he will receive the sum of one million and 400 thousand in the value of the termination of the contract between the two parties.

Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper revealed that Al-Badri is angry at the federation's decision, and said that he "did not fail in his mission, but achieved success in implementing and achieving all the tasks assigned to him by ascending to the African Nations Cup and leading his group in the World Cup journey," adding that he "endorsed with his technical staff and players." Previous mistakes harmed the Egyptian football, yet he achieved the goal and what was required of him without the team suffering any loss during his reign.

A number of former players in Egypt, including the former goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team, the current media, Ahmed Schubert, announced the appointment of the Portuguese Vingada as the coach of the national team, to succeed Hossam Al-Badri, and wrote through his account on "Twitter": "The announcement shortly .. Vingada as the technical director of the Egyptian team."

Vingada is considered the most likely coach to lead the Egyptian national team, as he is currently working as a technical director for the Egyptian Football Association, closely monitoring the level of players and the Egyptian League, in addition to his long experience with Egyptian football, and he previously obtained with Zamalek the league title, the African Super and the Arab Championship in the 2002-2003 season.

Al-Badri had taken over the task of training the Egyptian national team on September 20, 2019, to complete after the Gabon match 717 days as coach of the Pharaohs, as he played nine matches during which he was not defeated, as he succeeded in leading the team to the 2021 African Nations finals with a victory over Togo back and forth, and a draw with Comoros Before winning the second leg, while drawing with Kenya back and forth, and in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Egypt defeated Angola with a goal without a response, and drew away from home against Gabon with a goal for each team.

And the newspaper “Sada Al-Balad” reported that Hossam El-Badry got 17 months ago, during which he trained the national team, a sum of money that amounted to 13 million and 600,000 pounds, and with the addition of 500,000 pounds, the reward for qualifying for the 2022 African Nations finals in Cameroon, the total amount he received in that period reached 14 million pounds. Note that the team did not play any matches during the period from March 29 to August 31, 2021, at a time when the coach refused to play any friendly matches or gatherings in the June 2021 agenda despite the rest period for the team players at that time.

She explained: "The salary that Hossam El-Badri receives during that period increased to 800 thousand pounds per month instead of 730 thousand pounds, and he received, during the period from March 30 until September 2021, four million and 800 thousand pounds, bringing the total of what he received in 717 days is 19 million pounds."

And she concluded: "The national team has played under the leadership of Hossam El-Badri 9 matches (a friendly match and 8 official matches) so far, so that the price of one match is equivalent to two million and 100 thousand pounds, and a minute in the match is equivalent to 23 thousand and 500 pounds.
