The forward comes most recently from the NHL team San Jose, which he has belonged to since 2016. There he has accounted for 64 points on a total of 226 appearances.
Djurgården has not yet presented the recruitment on its website.
But Aftonbladet reported on Wednesday that an agreement was close, and on Sunday Sörensen posted a picture of himself wearing Djurgårdskläder on Instagram.
Now he has also confirmed the transfer for Telgenytt.
Sörensen played for Djurgården before signing for San Jose, and has been in contact with the Stockholm club since the beginning of August.
- I have really thought about my decision really carefully, he says.

- Because I wanted to have fun again, feel the joy of hockey and that the family can move home and have some security, he says.
