The captain of Zamalek, Mahmoud Abdel-Razek, "Shikabala", denied that his refusal to receive the league shield, after the final match against the National Bank, was due to his anger at the events that accompanied the end of the meeting, after which he was suspended for eight months and fined 500,000 Egyptian pounds.

Shikabala said in his first comment on the crisis of receiving the League Shield and through a video clip of it, that there were arrangements that had been coordinated and prepared between the players of Zamalek before the match, as it was agreed between a group of old players in the team, most notably Mohamed Abdel Shafi and Hazem Imam that our colleague Ayman would advance Hefni received the shield from the President of the Federation and the President of Zamalek Club, in honor of him for his initiative and desire to end his career inside the White Castle.

Shikabala added: “Many imagined that Zamalek players wanted to celebrate with their families on the field while receiving the league shield, and this is not the truth. In a great position, Ayman Hefni is one of them."

And he concluded: “Hazem Emam, when he found that things were not going as agreed upon, he also had a clear position, and I would like to thank him for his feelings and attitudes towards his colleagues, and this is the spirit of the Zamalek club, and I would like to say to Hazem Emam specifically, do not be sad about what happened, there are many championships in The future will be obtained by the Zamalek club, and Ayman Hefny will raise it.”
