Sjöström won Olympic silver in Tokyo, less than six months after the elbow operation after the slippery accident in February.

This weekend, she became the MVP for her Energy Standard when the third season of the money-hungry ISL series kicked off in Naples.

Those successes gave the Swede just over SEK 200,000 in prize money, according to the swimming site Swimswam.

When Energy Standards' second basic series match began on Thursday, Sjöström once again showed great form.

"Super happy"

She won 50 meters freestyle by far, 63 hundredths ahead of teammate Siobhan Haughey and 87 hundredths ahead of Dutch third-placed Ranomi Kromowidjojo, who competes for Iron, and holds the world record in short track with 22.93 from 2017.

- I am super happy with my 50 meter freestyle, it was not far from my personal best, says Sjöström, who was 17 hundredths above his own Swedish record, in Eurosport's broadcast.

Persson took the first victory

The Swede also swam the final distance in Energy Standards' winning team in the 4x100 meter medley.

Erik Persson, who competes for Iron, won the 200 meter breaststroke in 2.04.66.

Persson, who finished eighth in the distance in Tokyo, thus took his first individual ISL victory.

Energy Standard leads the match superiorly after the first day of two.

Erik Persson's Iron is third.
