In Finnkampen 1989, Ringa Ropo-Junnila jumped 6.82 in the ladies' long jump.

It was the longest jump made on the women's side in the competition's history, and is still a current record (even though Erica Johansson jumped 6.95 in too much tailwind in 1999).

Personal record by one centimeter

But now the record lives on dangerously.

Khaddi Sagnia last week broke her personal record of 6.92 in the Lausanne Diamond League competition, when she reached the farthest of all.

And just two days later, in miserable weather conditions, she reached another centimeter.

The personal record was a fact.

So it is not without wondering how far she will jump in tomorrow's Finnkamps competitions at Stockholm Stadium that promises better weather conditions than what Borås gave.

- There will not be so much focus on results, but more on winning and taking the points needed to win the entire competition.

So tomorrow the focus will be on that, but it is clear that they hope for good results anyway, she says to SVT Sport.

"Great that you said that"

But when she is informed that Finnkamps' record is 6.82 and has stood for over 30 years, it still becomes clear that she would like to beat it anyway.

- I did not know this, I do not know why someone did not say it to me last year, she says with a laugh, and continues:

- It's a long way, that's it.

But great that you have said it so that it is in the back of your mind.

Are you going to beat it?

- We can hope for that, haha!

I'll do my best and we'll see how far it goes, but it's great to still know how far it is and that it's still lasted so long.

You just want to erase it, enter your name and new result, hahaha!
