Tricycle rider Jana Majunke has secured the second gold medal at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

After her victory in the time trial, the 31-year-old from Cottbus also triumphed in the road race on the Fuji International Speedway over 26.4 kilometers ahead of her teammate Angelika Dreock-Käser.

"I still can't believe it," she said after the second gold on ARD.

"The route just suits me."

In the German double victory in the T1-2 starting class, Majunke was 2:42 minutes ahead of Dreock-Käser, who finished third in the time trial, in 1:00:58 hours.

For Majunke, who has spastic movement disorders, it was the third Paralympic medal after bronze in Rio on the street.

The German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) improved its balance sheet to eleven gold medals in Tokyo, including three of the cyclists.

Annika Zeyen also took first place next to Majunke.

Before that, Kerstin Brachtendorf had narrowly missed another medal.

The third of the individual time trial landed in the road race in fifth place after 79.2 kilometers; she was only 27 seconds short of bronze in the starting class C4-5

The German men, on the other hand, experienced a bitter disappointment in the race of the combined starting classes C1-3. As the best of a quartet, Rio winner Steffen Warias came in seventh after 79.2 kilometers; he was left behind in his group in the sprint for bronze. The third time trial, Matthias Schindler, finished in 13th place. As expected, flag bearer Michael Teuber had no chance in the race of the combined starting classes.
