And the fans waited until the last moments of the match, when Ronaldo scored two goals in the 89th and sixth minutes of stoppage time, to give his country a valuable victory, thanks to which it was alone in the top of the first group with 10 points from 4 matches, 3 points ahead of Serbia, who played only 3 matches, while Luxembourg ranked third with 6 points, while the Faroe Islands and Azerbaijan were without points.

With these two goals, Ronaldo raised his score with Portugal to 111 goals, to be unique in the list of historical scorers at the international level, two goals ahead of the previous record holder, the retired Iranian star Ali Daei.
