The first French breakdance championships took place at the Grand Théâtre d'Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) on Saturday, August 28.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the French dance federation had the honor of presenting the gold medal to Lucky, a young Clermontois aged 14 reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
“It's amazing what's happening to me.
For this competition, I trained well.
I had been preparing for these battles for a long time, ”confides Lucky, whose real name is Lucas Pereira Freitas, at the microphone of our colleagues.
Intense preparation
The young dancer took his first steps in the discipline when he was barely six years old.
His trainer, Mickaël Pecaud, quickly saw the potential of the young boy.
For this first national competition, the dancer from Puy-de-Dôme trained hard: “We prepared in terms of cardio because we knew it was going to be hard.
For the battles this summer, Lucky took part in the adult and kids categories, just to be well prepared in terms of endurance, ”explains Mickaël Pecaud to the local channel.
Now, Lucky dreams of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 where the discipline of breakdance will enter international competition for the first time.
