Dubai is preparing to host the first ever “snow volleyball” tournament in the Middle East and Asia, which will be held under the supervision of the International Volleyball Federation, and in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and Ski Dubai, during the second half of October 2021, and will continue Four days, in confirmation of Dubai’s position as an ideal destination to host and organize major world championships, with its global infrastructure, high-level equipment and capabilities, and in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, to attract the most prominent international sports events, and interest Sports in all its forms.
The tournament, organized by Asperia Academy, is a new addition to the list of distinguished sporting events within the annual agenda of the Dubai Sports Council. or follow its activities. Snow volleyball is very similar to "beach volleyball", where two teams of three players each compete in one match, while matches are played on snowy ground.The Dubai Sports Council continues to support the spread of snow sports, and to provide ways of growth and development for it, based on its keenness to expand the sports diversity that gives citizens and residents, as well as visitors, the opportunity to practice their favorite sports, as the Dubai Sports Council and Ski Dubai have previously organized many snow sports events that It witnessed a wide participation from different nationalities and ages, most notably the Dubai Snow Run, the Snow Challenge, the Jump and Frieze, the Emirates Alpine Ski Championship, the Emirates Ski and Freestyle Championship, the Asian Cup for Snowboards for People of Determination, and the World Cup for People of Determination. As part of the efforts to spread the sport of "snow volleyball", and in light of the availability of a unique facility equipped with the latest equipment and managed by a team of professionals, the opportunity has been opened for those wishing to train in this sport to join the exercises held at "Ski Dubai" in the Mall of the Emirates , during the period from August 31 to September 3, 2021, with two training sessions per day, each lasting 45 minutes, from 7:30 in the morning until 9:30 in the morning.
