German gold in the 100 meter competition of the legendary “Blade Runner” class Oscar Pistorius: Felix Streng won the third gold for Germany at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

Streng, who recently trained in London and started for Wetzlar, won the sprint for the lower leg amputees in 10.76 seconds ahead of Costa Rican Sherman Isidro Guity Guity (10.78).

"It wasn't a perfect race, but today it was all about being the first to cross the finish line," said Streng after his run.

World record holder Johannes Floors finished third in 10.79 seconds. The 26-year-old from Leverkusen, who is world champion and is considered the fastest man on two prostheses, had to wait minutes for the photo finish decision. Then the billboard lit up: Both Floors and the Briton Jonnie Peacock, 2012 Paralympic winner in London and 2016 in Rio, received bronze at the same time. “I'm really really satisfied with that,” said the sprinter.
