He is a rifle shooter and has been training at home in Mariestad for many years.

Father Mats helps him to load and prepare the shots while mother Ann-Christine has learned where she can be when it is shot in the kitchen.

Philip Jönsson has a rare disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the muscles are broken down and become adipose tissue, which greatly shortens the lifespan.

- I get frustrated when one moment it is possible to do things and the next not.

But I have lived with it for 24 years, so you have to find solutions and take advantage of the bright moments, says Philip Jönsson.

Eight in Rio

At the Paralympics in Rio 2016, Philip Jönsson made it to the finals in both the classes he competed in and at best it was an eighth place.

- The memories from there are just happiness, it was absolutely wonderful, he says.
