In the 50m freestyle men's swimming class, 24-year-old Ayano Tsujiuchi finished 7th with a new record of 27.59 seconds in Japan.

Tsujiuchi, who participated in the Paralympics for the first time, has been engaged in para-swimming in earnest for four years, and has set new Japanese records one after another with a straight underwater posture with little resistance.



On the 29th, he participated in a 50-meter freestyle visually impaired class, and in the morning qualifying, he broke his own Japanese record with a time of 27.79 seconds and advanced to the final in 6th place overall. ..



Even in the final, when he got on the speed from the start, he finished in 7th place with a time of 27.59, which set a new Japanese record with a tenacious swim in the second half.



The gold medal was Maria Carolina Gomes Santiago of Brazil, the silver medal was Anna Cribsina of the Russian Paralympic Committee, and the bronze medal was Carlotta Gilli of Italy.

Tsujiuchi "I'm glad I was able to set a faster time than my personal best."

Ayano Tsujiuchi recalled, "I'm glad I got off to a good start in the final and was able to set a time about 0.2 seconds faster than my original personal best."



"I'm happy to be in the final because I had the 10th entry, but I'm very happy to be 7th in the final," he said with a smile.
