"I'm a Swedish viking", roared Daniel Ståhl after he won the Olympic gold.

And today he followed up with a Swedish Championship gold in Borås.

"Ståhlmannen" is the foremost discus thrower in the world - and it was noticed that no one else could compete with the gold medalist.

Already in his first throw of 64.53 he had secured the gold.

No one else came close to threatening Ståhl with the gold, even though he did not make his strongest series in his career.

Sixth straight

And as expected, it was never very exciting in the Swedish Championship final.

The 29-year-old took his sixth straight Swedish Championship gold after a series where all throws had been enough for one gold.

In his third, Ståhl threw 67.04, it was also his longest throw of the day.

There was no question that Simon Pettersson would take a silver coin after throwing 62.91 as the best.

Jakob Gardenkrans took the Swedish Championship bronze in 55.49.
