The party after the party didn't want to end in the Munich arena.

Thomas Müller had grabbed a huge flag with the inscription "Back home", Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich the other two who were ready.

FC Bayern had already planned before kick-off to celebrate the return of the fans to the stadium at the end of the Bundesliga game against Hertha BSC on Saturday.

But even better than the choreography after the final whistle, the 25,000 spectators should have liked what the record champions had previously offered on the pitch in the 5-0 victory - and especially Robert Lewandowski.

The Pole scored three times and also shone as a template for Thomas Müller's opening goal.

He was only not involved in Jamal Musiala's goal.

“I'm always hungry and I feel very good physically, much better than a few years ago,” said Lewandowski.

His coach was delighted not only with the goals of his top striker, but also with the overall performance.

“We were much safer on the ball than against Cologne, we had a good structure and had a lot of chances.

That was our best game of the season, ”said Julian Nagelsmann.

Sané first on the bench

The much too discouraged and sometimes overwhelmed Hertha remains in last place in the table after the third defeat in the third Bundesliga game.

"We didn't have a chance today," said coach Pal Dardai, who missed the leading player on the pitch.

“I didn't see any coaching on the pitch at all.

That's not how football works. "

The regular staff spared at the Cup in Bremen returned to the starting eleven as expected, only the recently harshly criticized Leroy Sané first had to sit on the bench.

Nagelsmann gave Musiala, who had forced himself with his appearances against Cologne and the fifth division club Bremer SV, the preference.

For Hertha coach Dardai, he traveled to Munich without any great illusions.

His team had to survive the first quarter of an hour without damage, he had stated as a goal.

And the Berlin team almost took the lead in the fifth minute when Leon Goretzka missed a back pass and the ball landed on Davie Selke instead of a teammate.

The Hertha striker ran towards Neuer alone, but finished much too early.

The Munich goalkeeper had no trouble clearing up after the half-hearted shot.

A minute later, however, it was Bayern's turn - and thwarted Dardai's plan.

Alphonso Davies, the full-back with an offensive urge, rushed to the left in midfield after Gnabry had captured the ball and played on the other side of the penalty area, where Lewandowski and Müller charged.

The Pole, who had been awarded the trophy for being voted “Footballer of the Year” before the game, intelligently let through for the colleague who scored 1-0.

Goal scorer Müller sees Lewandowski in the face of selflessness "on a new level".

In the past, he said, the world footballer would have let the ball through in such a situation, “but instead looked to see if he could get the ball himself”.

Bayern follow suit

An early goal conceded by Bayern can throw a team like the Berliners that is not exactly brimming with self-confidence, but Hertha held up well for the time being, even after the early replacement of the ailing Stevan Jovetic, with Javairo Dilrosun coming on for him. She defended well at first and also tried to play forward quickly when in possession. But the advances were too harmless and presented with too little conviction.

Bayern were content with controlling the game and keeping their opponents busy in their own half before they decided after a good half hour to push for the second goal with more vehemence. For the 2-0 in the 35th minute, Lewandowski then had to take a second attempt, his first header hit the crossbar, from there the ball jumped back onto the field and again on the forehead of the striker, who now came from close range met. After checking, the video assistant overruled the linesman who had ruled offside.

Unlike Cologne a week earlier, Hertha, where Selke also had to be replaced injured, no longer gave the impression of being able to start a comeback. On the contrary: after the break the goal-hungry Bayern followed suit. First, the Musiala used the freedoms that the Hertha defense granted him in the penalty area with the 3-0 (49th), then Lewandowski scored the 4-0 (70th), after preparatory work by the meanwhile substitute and this time applauded Sané, and 5-0 (84th). A minute later, the ball was in the other goal, but Ishak Belfodil hit from an offside position. It was the only small moment of shock for Bayern at this football gala.
