1. FC Nürnberg shuddered its second win of the season in the second Bundesliga and inflicted its first defeat on Karlsruher SC.

After a fast-paced and thrilling second half, coach Robert Klauss's team won 2-1 (0-0) in front of 13,120 spectators on Friday evening.

The still unbeaten franc overtook KSC in the table and temporarily climbed to third place with nine points.

New signing Lino Tempelmann (50th minute) with his first goal for the "Club" and Erik Schuranow (74th) after a failed chest return from defender Christoph Kobald let the hosts cheer. Malik Batmaz (82.) with a fine right-footed shot made the hectic final phase exciting again, Philipp Hofmann (90. + 5) only hit the left post.

In the first half, the defensively safe Nuremberg and Karlsruhe neutralized each other.

But the game picked up speed after the break.

The lively Nürnberger could have taken the lead just a few seconds after the break.

After a cross from the left Daniel Gordon deflected the ball, goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck (47.) fought off with his foot.

Against the Tempelmann loaned from SC Freiburg in the summer, the KSC keeper had no chance later when he followed up with his head.

First victory for Ingolstadt

On the other side, FCN goalkeeper Christian Mathenia saved against Hofmann (56th), who spiked the ball onto the goal as he fell.

The Franks continued to push for the second hit that the lurking Schuranow got against the surprised Gersbeck.

The FCN survived the urge phase of the guests after the connection.

Meanwhile, FC Ingolstadt achieved their first win of the season. The promoted team won 2-0 (1-0) at SV Sandhausen. Filip Bilbija (38th) and substitute Fatih Kaya (88th) scored the goals. While the FCI is at least temporarily climbing to the relegation place, the home side missed the second victory in a row in front of 3,153 spectators.

The Ingolstadt team followed up on the words of their coach with deeds right from the start. Roberto Pätzold had demanded a threesome "with all his might". After just 18 seconds, Dennis Eckert Ayensa appeared in front of SVS goalkeeper Patrick Drewes, but the attacker was offside during the pass. The Baden-Wuerttembergians caught up, but missed almost a dozen opportunities in the first round alone. On the other hand, the Schanzer were more effective. However, Bilbija's hit was hotly debated because Sandhausen's defense chief Alexander Schirow was treated during the scene. So the assignment in the penalty area did not fit. Beneficiary Bilbija poked the ball over the line.

After the break, Sandhausen ran up, but couldn't equalize. From an SVS point of view, it got even worse, because Kaya finally let the FCI breathe a sigh of relief after the weak start to the season.
