The Tokyo Para-Athletics club throwing on land began on the 27th, and the clubs made by high school students in Tokyo were used for the first time at the competition.

Club throwing is a competition unique to Parasports in which athletes with weak grip strength who have difficulty in shot put or spear throwing sit on a pedestal and throw wooden clubs to compete for distance.

On the 27th, the finals of classes such as cerebral palsy for throwing women's clubs were held, and nine people including Alia Issa from Syria, who became the first female player in the refugee team, participated.

Most of the clubs thrown by the players are made by students who are learning how to make woodworking furniture on a part-time basis at Tokyo Metropolitan Kogei High School in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.

The club is a wooden rod that is about 40 cm long and weighs 397 grams, similar to a bowling pin. ..

As a result of the competition of throwing six times per person, Poland's Luja Kozakovska won the gold medal at 28 meters and 74 centimeters, breaking the world record of nearly 1 meter and 50 centimeters.

Naoto Nishizawa, who was the one who made the clubs and worked as a mikoshi craftsman after graduation, said, "When I saw the clubs lined up on TV, I was happy to know that they were made by myself. I want to continue making things by making use of the experience I made with the players in mind. "
