Former Egyptian national team player Ahmed Hossam “Mido” attacked Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, because of his position on joining the Egyptian team during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Last Monday, the Egyptian Football Association announced the apology of Liverpool FC for not allowing Salah to join the Egyptian national team in its next camp, due to the precautionary measures related to confronting the Corona pandemic in Britain.

Mido said - in televised statements - "Where is Salah's role in pressuring his club to participate with his country's national team, and with whom does he communicate with the national team or the Egyptian Football Association?"

He pointed out that Salah's business agent is the one who addresses the Egyptian sports authorities, not Salah himself, adding, "Is it possible that there is no direct communication between the players and the technical or administrative staff of the national team?"

And Mido continued, "The Egyptian team is deprived of playing the best player in it because of the intransigence of his club, and the player has a role in putting pressure on his club to go to the team, as Lionel Messi did when he was in Barcelona by pressing them to play with the Argentina national team."

Mido said that Liverpool refused to go to Salah to play the Gabon match as well, although it is not among the banned countries.

The former player wondered about the role of the Egyptian media in making a fuss about this issue and talking about it more in order to put pressure on the Premier League and retract its decision.
