A place in the Champions League group stage gives SEK 159.7 million in prize money from Uefa.

Malmö FF has thus already secured them.

There is also a so-called ranking pot where some of the money in the group stage of the various European tournaments is distributed to participating teams according to a club ranking based on results in Europe over the past ten years.

The club with the highest ten-year ranking gets 32 shares of this pot - the lowest-ranked gets one share.

In the Champions League, the value of a share is SEK 11.6 million, so Malmö FF gets at least that in addition to the prize money.

As if that were not enough, there is also a market pot.

It is based on the amount that each team receives based on how much the TV rights have been sold for in the nations that have clubs in the group stage and how far a club goes in the tournament.

If a nation has more than one club in the current tournament, the clubs may share the sum.

The longer a club goes in the tournament, the larger share of the market pot you get.

How much Malmö gets from that pot is still unclear.

In the event of victories or crosses in the group stage, Malmö will receive additional money.

A victory is worth SEK 28.6 million and a cross SEK 9.5 million.
