Prestigious Champions Hockey League is back, after last season was canceled due to the pandemic.

When the European top league starts this week, there will be 32 clubs in the game tree, which includes Frölunda, Skellefteå, Rögle, Växjö and Leksand.

"Of course there is quality"

SVT will broadcast a large number of CHL matches and first out is Frölunda's premiere against Czech BK Mladá Boleslav.

A team that mostly consists of Czechs and Slovaks.

- Some of the Slovaks took part in playing the World Cup this spring, so of course there is quality in Mladá Boleslav, but this is a team that Frölunda will defeat, says SVT's commentator Chris Härenstam.

What match picture do you expect?

- It is early in the season, which means that the teams have not really set their games yet, which in turn means that the timing, passes and individual performances are not really on top.

The match picture can thus be jerky.

"Really curious about Frölunda"

This year's edition of Frölunda has many young players in the squad, who can be uncut diamonds.

This investment arouses great curiosity in Chris Härenstam.

- Frölunda feels exciting this season!

It is crowded with young players who have a bright ice hockey future.

I look forward to seeing Simon Edvinsson, Daniel Torgersson, Theodor Niederbach and Elmer Söderblom to name a few, says Härenstam.

"Sundström, Mursak and Lasu can do better"

SVT's commentator highlights another aspect that can give Gothenburgers an extra spark.

He believes that there will be a lot of revenge among the older players, after the total flop against Rögle in the Swedish Championship quarterfinals this spring.

- There are some more experienced players who are certainly looking for revenge this season compared to the previous one.

Some players who did not reach the right level last season and can do better are Johan Sundström, Jan Mursak and Nicklas Lasu.

In addition, I will keep an extra eye on the lyre players Ryan Lasch and Michael Spacek, says Chris Härenstam.
