Four girls from the UAE women's boxing team are fighting at 4:00 pm today in the Asian Youth and Junior Championships held at the Le Meridien Airport Hotel in Dubai, with high ambition and great aspirations to win colorful medals in the Asian forum, and they are: Jawaher Gharib in weight 46 kilograms, and Rahma Al-Murshidi in weight 66 kilograms, Shahd Khamis, 75 kilograms, and Maryam Adel, 81 kilograms.

Al-Shibli confirmed to "Emirates Today" that the female boxers are ready to compete, and they have chances of winning, despite the fact that they fall in a strong draw against female champions with high technical capabilities.

He continued: "Girls' boxing has reached an advanced stage and reached a qualitative leap that paves the way for an impressive future, and they have become developed, and all our female players are waiting for a promising future, and in this tournament we are very confident that they will get medals despite the difficulty of the confrontations."

Egyptian coach Adel Al-Ashry said: "Fujairah Martial Arts Club is one of the most prominent specialized clubs that sponsor women's boxing, so all players are considered special talents."

"We are here to win, not to learn about boxing or contact," he added.

He continued, "Some of the players have had previous experiences and developed, and we want them to participate in this competition effectively."

In a press statement, a member of the Emirates Boxing Federation and Chairman of the Marketing Committee of the Asian Boxing Confederation, Abdullah Al-Antali, said that the technical return and excellence in the performance presented by a number of UAE boxers in the current Asian Championship enhances the aspirations of the Emirati boxing family towards a brilliant future based on the performance they presented In the current competitions, the people of the Emirates were able to keep pace with the boxers of the advanced teams in the continent of Asia, describing the UAE boxers as among the advanced players, which was revealed by the Asian Youth and Junior Championships.

Al-Antali said: “Our ambition is for UAE boxers to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, and this ambition is based on an approved action plan that has been professionally managed for many years, but it was affected by the (Corona) pandemic due to the cessation of real friction with the best international boxing schools, including in Cuba. However, the efforts of the technical director, the citizen Mohammed Musabeh Al-Shibli, mitigated the adverse effects, and the evidence is the good attendance in the current championship.

He continued: "The preparation of national team players is managed according to the best technical specifications that are followed in building athletes globally, under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Anas Al-Otaiba, and that preparation will continue in an ascending manner to achieve the desired goals."
