Sweden ready for the round of 16 in the European Volleyball Championship

With the loss against Ukraine yesterday, Sweden failed to secure promotion from the group stage.

But despite the fact that the Swedes, who end the group game against the Netherlands tomorrow, were ready to play today, a place in the round of 16 was secured.

This is because Finland beat Romania 3-1 in sets.

Romania, which has zero points and is last in Group D, has only one match left and it is impossible to get past Sweden which has five points.

The same applies to Finland, which with tonight's match played clearly in the group stage.

The Finns land on four points, one point behind Sweden.

This means that Sweden will be the worst four in the group, which is enough to reach the eighth.

Sweden meets the Netherlands tomorrow and can also be third in the group with a victory.
