Yesterday, Djurgården fired his coach Pierre Fondin, who had to leave the post as head coach after Saturday's derby loss against AIK.

- As part of our ambitions to constantly take steps forward, we need to make changes to find the energy again and continue towards the goals we have had.

Pierre has helped us a bit along the way in our journey but now we need to take it further with new thoughts and other ideas to take further steps forward, said sports director Jean Balawo to the club's website.

Now it is clear that Magnus Pålsson will take over the post.

Pålsson has previously coached men's and boys' teams in IFK Lidingö and Helsingborgs IF.

- This feels great and very fun to get the chance to test yourself and see how it goes at a slightly higher level.

In the past, I have been mostly on the boys' and men's side before, so it will be very exciting in many ways, says Pålsson.

Djurgården is currently in eighth place in the damallsvenskan.
