French newspaper L'equipe reported today, Tuesday, that Real Madrid made an offer worth 160 million euros ($188.11 million) to Paris Saint-Germain to sign French striker Kylian Mbappe.

There was no immediate comment from the two clubs on the matter.

L'Equipe added that Saint-Germain's position has not changed, as the French Ligue 1 team seeks to keep its 22-year-old striker until the end of his contract in June next year.

And the British Sky Sports network said that the Spanish club submitted its offer last Sunday.

The sale of Mbappe, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, will allow Paris Saint-Germain to offset some of the costs of contracting Argentina captain and six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi from Barcelona earlier this month.
