Before the championship, there were hopes that Sweden could beat Finland, Romania and Ukraine in the group stage.

The latter, however, became the number too large for Blågult.

After an even start in the first set, Ukraine left and got four set balls.

Sweden managed to pick up three, but then Ukrainian superstar Olesia Rykhliuk smashed home the first set.

- Sweden can rise several levels with better serve receptions and greater calm in the defensive game, says SVT's expert Andréa Jacobsson.

Instead of rising and leveling in the match, Blågult fell heavily in the second set with a full 17-25.

A set where Ukraine offered a strong serve reception game, something Sweden continued to have problems with in the match, according to Jacobsson.

"Other expression in the players' eyes"

In the third set, Ukraine's show continued, where they also decided the group stage match.

- It is a different expression in the eyes of the players.

They may not only be physically tired, but it is also a mental strain to play it is the type of matches.

To constantly have to play at the top, and to be part of a championship with all that entails, says Andréa Jacobsson.

- None of these players have experienced it before.

The set numbers were written to 23-25, 17-25, 20-25.

Thus, the Swedes missed the chance to secure a playoff spot, but they still have an advancement in their own hands.

On Wednesday, Sweden will meet the Netherlands in the last group game.

The broadcast starts at 16.25 on SVT1.
