Dijon FCO announced on Monday the appointment as coach of Patrice Garande, who succeeds David Linarès, sacked while the club, which hopes to play the climb this season, points to the penultimate place in Ligue 2 after five days.

Appointed in November 2020, David Linarès will have finally spent less than a year as n ° 1 on the Burgundy bench.

In the offseason, Dijon, the second largest budget in L2 (18 million euros) has carried out an ambitious recruitment with in particular the arrivals of Daniel Congré (Montpellier), Lucas Deaux and Baptiste Reynet (Nîmes) and especially the scorer of Auxerre Mickaël Le Bihan (2nd top scorer in L2 last season with 19 goals and 4 assists in 36 games).

Ligue 1 objective for the DFCO

Aged 60, Garande, originally from the Lyon region, is a former center forward of Saint-Etienne but also of Auxerre, Nantes, Lens or Montpellier in particular.

As a coach, he led Caen in Ligue 1 from 2012 to 2018 before joining Toulouse last season, after which he was dismissed after missing the Ligue 1 play-off against Nantes.

TFC was ranked 3rd in L2.
