Every day, Anicet Mbida makes us discover an innovation that could well change the way we consume.

This Monday, a phone that acts according to our movements and facial expressions.

You can already unlock some phones with your face.

Soon, most of the mobile's functions will be able to be controlled with your face.

It should surprise: we raise our eyebrows and the screen begins to scroll.

We smile and go back to the home screen.

We look to the right, he goes to the next page, to the left, he goes back, etc.

Everything will, of course, be configurable.

Everyone can associate the expression they want with a function of their phone.

Initially, it was a system designed for people with disabilities (some may find it difficult to press buttons or use the touchscreen).

Finally, we realize that this can be of interest to everyone: when we have our hands taken, for example, when we hold the helm in the metro or in the bus;

all it takes is a wink of an eye to display notifications.

How it works ?

Does he use the front camera?

It constantly analyzes facial expressions and translates them into actions on the phone.

This means that the phone is going to be filming you constantly.

So that it will consume more battery.

It also raises privacy issues.

But they ensure that no image is stored or sent on the internet unlike voice control in particular.

It will also be more discreet than having to say out loud what you want to do.

But we risk having some giggles in the metro if everyone starts making faces in front of their phones.

Do we already know when it will be available?

For the moment, it is in test (the famous beta versions). This should be available mid-September on Android phones. The application is called "Camera Switches". It will be integrated on the next version of the system, but also offered separately for current phones.
