Sebastian Samuelsson looked for a long time to have shot away at the men's distance during the Swedish Championships in roller biathlon in Sollefteå.

A swaying shooting from the Swedish biathlon star opened up for a long time to the competitors.

Oskar Brandt led until the last shooter when both Samuelsson and Martin Ponsiluoma who were closest behind had shot three booms were on three shooters.

Defends the gold

But at the last standing shot, it did not hold for Brandt.

It ended with a full five booms for the 26-year-old and the chances for the Swedish Championship gold were completely missed.

Instead, Samuelsson - who was fast on the roller skis - held it together, only stood for a boom in his fourth shot and was able to defend his distance gold from last year.

Samuelsson won in the end with 1.37 before Tobias Arwidson who picked up the silver and another eight seconds before today's third, Martin Ponsiluoma.

- It is always fun to win but in a World Cup competition it would not go far with four booms, the performance felt medium.

It was still a good performer and it has been a good competition period that has been now, says Sebastian Samuelsson afterwards in Expressen's broadcast.
