Two cases of corona infection among the Paralympics who have moved into the Olympic Village in Tokyo have been discovered.

In addition, around 100 more cases, related to the games starting on 24 August, have been identified since 12 August.

Therefore, the organization for the Paralympics will review how to strengthen protection against the virus.

Consideration is being given to testing more often and imposing more restrictions on those who are accredited to the Paralympics.

- The testing worked during the Olympics, but the pandemic has since worsened in Tokyo and we are therefore reviewing the measures.

The Paralympics start on Tuesday so we must come up with a message as soon as possible, says Paralympic director Hidemasa Nakamura according to the site Inside the games.

SVT broadcasts the Paralympics, which kicks off on Tuesday 24 August.
