The number of Paralympic-related infected people announced by the Organizing Committee from the 12th of this month has exceeded 100.

On the 21st, the Games Organizing Committee announced that 15 people had newly tested positive for the new corona in connection with the Tokyo Paralympics.



One is a player who has just arrived in Japan from overseas and has not entered the Olympic Village.



Of the remaining 14 people, 6 came from overseas, 1 from the athletes staying in the Olympic Village, 4 from the tournament, and 1 from the tournament contractor.



The other eight lived in Japan and were all outsourced to the tournament.



This brings the number of Paralympic-related infections announced by the Organizing Committee from the 12th of this month to more than 100, to 101.



The Organizing Committee also revealed that nine people have been identified as close contacts of one athlete who announced that they tested positive on the 20th.



All nine are quarantined and will be tested daily and have the necessary infection control measures before deciding to practice or participate in the competition.



On the other hand, it was confirmed that one person involved in the Games who came to Japan from overseas in connection with the Olympic Games that had already closed was infected, and the number of infected people related to the Olympic Games reached 547.
