Frenchman Sasha Zhoya improved again on Saturday the world record in the 110m hurdles for juniors, which he had already broken on Friday.

With a time of 12 sec 72, he confirms his status as a potential cador in French athletics in the coming years.

Frenchman Sasha Zhoya was crowned on Saturday under 20 world champion in the 110 meters hurdles, improving his own world record in the category with a time of 12 sec 72 / 100th in the final in Nairobi (Kenya).

Sasha Zhoya, 19, had already set the previous U20 record in qualifying the day before with 12 sec 93 / 100th, falling for the first time in his career below the threshold of 13 seconds.

Boasting a +1.0 wind, he beat Jamaican Vashaun Vacianna and Pole Jakub Szymansky on Saturday.

Before Zhoya's exploits, the previous record in this category, which runs with hurdles of 99 centimeters against 106 cm for the senior competitions, was held by another Frenchman, Wilhelm Belocian, in 12 sec 99.

This time was then matched by Jamaican Damion Thomas. Sasha Zhoya, considered a great hope in French athletics, was born in Australia to a French mother, and divides his time between the two countries.
