The star-studded Paris Saint-Germain team thwarted a late uprising against its host Brest to win 4-2 in the opening of the third round of the French Football League, achieving the full mark.

Saint-Germain raised its score to 9 points, achieving the full mark so far, despite the absence of its new star Lionel Messi, who preferred the coach to postpone his first appearance in the French League.

While Brest's balance froze at only two points.

Ander Herrera and Kylian Mbappe advanced for PSG in the 23rd and 36th minutes, but Frank Honorat reduced the score to Brest 3 minutes before the end of the first half.

Idrissa Gaye returned the two-goal difference for Saint-Germain, but the owner of the stadium rose up at the end of the second half, and managed to score a goal to reduce the score in the 85th minute through Steve Meunier.

Saint-Germain quickly regained control and thwarted his opponent's uprising with a superb goal from a counter-attack that Angel Di Maria ended with a technical touch, to hit the net in the 90th minute.
