Regarding the Tokyo Paralympics, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama City and Ebina City were planning to watch the competition by children and students, but decided to cancel it due to the spread of the new corona infection.

At the Paralympics, all venues were closed to spectators in principle, while children watching games with school-linked watching tickets are to be held.

There are no competition venues in Kanagawa Prefecture, but about 1,000 children and students from elementary school to high school in Yokohama and Ebina were planning to watch athletics at the new national stadium in Tokyo.

However, since the state of emergency requires refraining from moving across prefectural borders, we decided to cancel all of them by the 17th.

According to the prefecture, after each city decided to cancel the game, the organizing committee of the tournament contacted us that it was not possible for children to watch the game across prefectural borders.

The Yokohama City Board of Education said, "Given the current infection situation, it is difficult for children to move to the venue by public transportation. It is very disappointing."

The Ebina City Board of Education also said, "I wanted to participate because it was an irreplaceable opportunity, but I couldn't put my children at risk of infection, so I made a tough decision."
